"Astern. I am still overwhelmed by the response. Heading towards the lifting bridge I went astern at 3 knots all the way back with the helm answering both to port and starboard. Something the traditional prop would not allow me to do with only to port with a right hand prop. These old (she is 80 on 29th March) ex fishing boats with long straight keels were ever buggers to steer.
